Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – In a comparison of the federal states in terms of the quality of their education systems, Hessen is in the middle, as in previous years. The “INSM Education Monitor 2021” study published on Wednesday by the German Economic Institute (IW) continues to see significant opportunities for improvement in internationalization, school quality and research. The proportion of elementary school students who are taught foreign languages ??is comparatively small. In addition, compared to the state’s economic power, only a few researchers work in Hesse.
On the other hand, integration and digitization were rated positively. Only comparatively few foreign students left school without a qualification, and the schools are well equipped with fast WiFi.
The educational systems from kindergarten to university were evaluated in the monitoring. Overall, Hessen took seventh place among the 16 federal states, as in previous years. Saxony was again at the top ahead of Bavaria, with Bremen again bringing up the rear.
The INSM education monitor is created on behalf of the New Social Market Economy Initiative (INSM), which claims to be financed by the employers’ associations in the metal and electrical industry.
