Raunheim (dpa/lhe) – An infant was taken to a hospital as a precaution after an apartment fire in Raunheim (Groß-Gerau district). The fire broke out on Wednesday evening because overheated cooking oil ignited in a pan, the police said on Thursday. The fire department quickly got the fire under control. However, since heavy smoke had developed, the infant was being examined at the hospital, it said. The police estimate the damage at several thousand euros.
