The guy has his hands concealed behind his back and that he began cutting until officers fired, an LAPD detective told reporters
Authorities at Los Angeles fatally shot at a motorist wearing body armor Saturday day after he backed his car into a patrol vehicle then got out and faced officers.
Officers were responding to a second call using the siren blaring whenever the motorist”stopped abruptly” on Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood and turned to the police car, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Meghan Aguilar told reporters, based on FOX 11 at Los Angeles.
The driver got out of their vehicle and maintained his right hand hidden behind his back, since the officers left their car too, Aguilar said.
“The officers gave him orders that he didn’t follow, and he began counting down, stating 3… 2… 1… because he began to pull his hands from his rear to front,” she told reporters.
Information concerning the shooting came in body camera footage in the officers, the detective stated, based on KNBC-TV from Los Angeles.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and also the thoroughfare was temporarily closed down, KNBC reported.
