Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The digital building application from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has won an award in a nationwide competition for the implementation of the Online Access Act. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior in Schwerin on Wednesday.
The digital building permit process has been online in several municipalities in the country since January 2021. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is currently negotiating with other federal states about subsequent use. Several have already decided to do so. MV is in charge of the implementation of the online access law in the area of ??construction and housing – that means the north-east develops solutions and the other countries can then adopt them.
According to the online access law, by the end of this year 575 administrative services of the federal and state governments should be able to be completed on the Internet – from the formalities relating to marriage to explosives permits. However, observers are of the opinion that this will not be completely possible. According to the motto “One for all”, certain federal states have taken the lead for one subject area.
The digital building application from MV makes the application for a building permit much easier for applicants and processors, explained Interior Minister Christian level (SPD). “Everyone involved can work on the application in parallel in a digital process room and communicate with each other. This saves time, paper and costs.” According to the minister, around 220,000 building permits are issued in Germany every year – still primarily on the basis of paper applications.
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the digital building application has so far been offered in Greifswald, Neubrandenburg, Rostock, Wismar and in the districts of Rostock, Western Pomerania-Greifswald, Mecklenburg Lake District and Western Pomerania-Rügen. In addition, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein, Saarland, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony have so far opted for the solution from MV by contract. “We are in intensive exchange with all other countries,” says level.
According to the information, the project “The digital district archive” of the district of Rostock from MV was also awarded in the competition.
