Schwerin (dpa/mv) – In the debate about the accommodation of refugees, the FDP parliamentary group has campaigned for transparency. “The situation in the country is critical. More transparency is urgently needed in order to gain acceptance for the asylum policy among the population,” said FDP parliamentary group leader René Domke on Friday in Schwerin.
Politicians must make it clear to people that the issue of asylum and the issue of immigration of skilled workers are not lumped together. According to Domke, in order to find viable solutions, it must be clear which people are involved.
Referring to asylum seekers, he said: “It is necessary to talk about what prospects people have – or don’t have – to stay.” Better repatriation of rejected asylum seekers is also an indispensable part of migration policy.
