Schwerin/Kiel (dpa/mv) – The North Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency announced the current labor market figures for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Thursday (10 a.m.). Experts assume that the number of unemployed in June fell further compared to the same month last year. One of the reasons is the beginning of the high season in the holiday region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
At the end of May, the regional directorate reported 54,800 unemployed in the northeast. That was the lowest level in a May since reunification. The rate fell to 6.7 percent from 6.9 percent in April. A year ago it was 8.1 percent in MV.
