Ramp (dpa/mv) – The State Criminal Police Office warns of a new scam with fake attachment orders. The LKA announced on Monday at its headquarters in Rampe near Schwerin that the recipients would be asked to pay alleged debts in the letters. At the same time, they are threatened with imprisonment in the form of an alternative term of imprisonment. The forgeries therefore bear the Hamburg coat of arms and the name of a fictitious high court officer from Hamburg.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, scammers tried this scam with a woman from the Greifswald area. The woman did not fall for it and filed a criminal complaint. She turned to the court in Hamburg and noticed the intention to defraud.

The police do not rule out that this scam also occurs in a modified form.
