Bergen (dpa / mv) – the police and state security have prevented a larger, unauthorized convoy ride by a motorcycle rocker club on the island of Rügen. As a police spokesman said on Monday, almost 80 members of the Bandidos from Germany met on Pentecost Saturday in Stralsund and Bergen in Western Pomerania. The police have set up several checkpoints, as the activities of these groups can pose significant threats to public safety and order, it said.
Five violations of the law were found during these checks, including wearing illegal robes and biker signs. The investigations into this continued.
According to the security authorities, there is a club in Bergen, among other places, that belongs to this group. With targeted measures, the police will continue to prevent legal vacuums from forming in the north-east through such motorcycle clubs, it said. At times – with heavy Pentecost travel on Saturday – there were traffic restrictions.
