Stralsund (dpa/mv) – Special contact points are intended to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurial initiatives in the north-east. The Schwerin Minister of Digitization Christianpegel and Minister of Economics Reinhard Meyer (both SPD) presented appropriate notifications of grants for European funding of around five million euros in Stralsund on Wednesday. This is about support for five of the six digital innovation centers (DIZ) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and for two co-working projects in rural areas, according to a statement from the Schwerin Ministry of Economic Affairs.
For start-ups, the centers offer individual, professional help and access to regional and industry-specific networks, Meyer explained. Since 2018, DIZ have been set up at the five university locations in the state and in the state capital – i.e. in Wismar, Rostock, Greifswald, Stralsund, Neubrandenburg and Schwerin. In the funding period that now follows, it is about the expansion and further development of joint programs, explainedleve.
