Rostock (dpa / mv) – The high flight of the Rostock Seawolves in the basketball Bundesliga continues unabated. On Sunday, the promoted team celebrated a 95:92 (49:46) win at BG Göttingen and thus achieved their fourth win in the fourth game. The best pitcher in the team of head coach Christian Held was Derrick Alston with 23 points.

From the middle of the first quarter, the Seawolves had pulled away from their opponents. Göttingen fought back, but thanks to a better defensive performance, the Rostockers managed to distance the hosts by ten points at times.

However, the cushion was used up in the middle of the third quarter. Both teams played at eye level for a few minutes before Göttingen was able to gain some breathing room. But again there was a twist in the game. Nijal Pearson put the Mecklenburg team back in front with a three-pointer about two minutes before the end to make it 91:88. In the dramatic final phase, Alston in particular kept his nerve and made the decision with four converted free throws.

This means that there will be a surprising top game on October 30th in the Stadthalle. At 6 p.m. defending champion Alba Berlin is a guest.
