Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) has called for better protection of the so-called critical infrastructure. “The situation is serious and time is of the essence. We saw that in view of the attacks on the gas pipelines and the Deutsche Bahn network in recent weeks. We make it far too easy for those who mean us harm,” said Reul on Friday at the Economic Protection Day in Düsseldorf.
Critical infrastructure includes, for example, energy and water supply, transport and medical care. She is “the Achilles’ heel of our society,” said Reul. Your protection will also be an issue at the upcoming conference of interior ministers. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has the task of making companies aware of the dangers of espionage, sabotage and cyber attacks.
