Saxony-Anhalt: fleeing the police on tracks and red traffic lights

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – An unknown driver gave himself a wild chase with the police late Thursday evening in Magdeburg. After an attempted traffic control, the man drove on tram tracks and red traffic lights in the city center – six people had to get to a stop to safety, the police said on Friday. They were unharmed. A helicopter was also used in the pursuit. The officers were unable to stop the speeding car. A short time later, the vehicle was discovered parked, according to the information. It is being searched for the driver, the police are investigating because of the endangerment of road traffic, it said.
