Marienberg (dpa/sn) – A fire broke out in a bus in Marienberg (Erzgebirge district). A 38-year-old bus driver was on the federal highway 171 in the Ansprung district on Friday when she noticed smoke, the police said on Friday. As a result, a fire broke out in the engine compartment. Firefighters extinguished the fire. According to the police, the bus driver was in shock and was taken to a hospital. The other four occupants were unharmed, including a child.
The B171 was closed for around three hours. According to initial findings, the police assume a technical defect. The resulting property damage could not be quantified so far.
