Leipzig (dpa / sn) – An elephant girl reinforces the herd of pachyderms in the Leipzig Zoo. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the elephant cow Thuza gave birth to her offspring without any complications, the zoo in Leipzig announced on Wednesday. The mother of 13-year-old elephant Kewa and Thuza’s sister Pantha were also present at the birth. After 650 days of gestation, the baby elephant saw the light of day shortly before midnight. She is the daughter of the bull elephant Voi Nam.
