Leinefelde-Worbis (dpa/th) – Four people were injured in an apartment fire in Leinefelde in the Eichsfeld district early on Saturday morning. The reason for the fire in Mühlhäuser Chaussee was probably a candle that was forgotten to be extinguished, the police said on Saturday. According to this, both the mother and her children, aged 18, 17 and 15, contracted smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other apartments in the apartment building. The property damage is estimated by the police at around 50,000 euros.
