Erfurt (dpa/th) – The CDU parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament is calling for an aid program for hospitals and rehabilitation clinics in need in the Free State. The red-red-green state government should provide appropriate state loans and liquidity aid, said the group’s health policy spokesman, Christoph Zippel, according to a statement on Tuesday.

Clarity is also needed quickly when planning the state hospital, Zippel continued. “There is massive uncertainty among hospitals as to which future investments can be made.” The state government must therefore already now publish an expert opinion on hospital planning and prepare the amendment to the hospital law.

The government has been saving on investment funds for Thuringian hospitals for years, Zippel complained. “The funds must be massively increased and made available by the 2024 budget at the latest if investments are made in the clinics based on the new hospital planning,” said the CDU health politician.
