Erfurt (dpa/th) – Twelve people died in accidents on Thuringian roads last December. That was three more deaths than in December a year earlier, the State Statistical Office said on Wednesday based on preliminary results. In the last month of 2022, the police counted a total of 4389 accidents on Thuringia’s roads. That is an increase of 13.1 percent compared to the year before (3882). More people were also injured in the accidents: 506 in December 2022, a year earlier it was 444. Restrictions in connection with the corona pandemic could also have influenced the development of the number of accidents, it said.
