Erfurt/Gera (dpa/th) – The state supports the East Thuringia Chamber of Crafts in modernizing its vocational training center. Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee (SPD) announced on Thursday in Gera that more than 348,000 euros would be made available for this purpose. Above all, the training areas of automotive electrics, hydraulics, carpentry, IT, concrete and stone construction, wood technology, electronics and welding would benefit from this. According to the chamber, the project should be completed by the end of 2023. The total costs amounted to around 473,000 euros.
The minister explained that the inter-company vocational training would primarily support smaller craft businesses that could not impart all the technical knowledge and skills of a training occupation themselves. Overall, the Chamber of Crafts offers inter-company training courses in 17 professions.
