Antena 3 broadcast on March 16 the delivery of Pasapalabra in which Rafa Castaño completed the rosco and won a prize of 2,272,000 euros. Weeks after her feat, the contestant has spoken in an interview about her rival in the format, Orestes Barbero.
The Sevillian explained in a chat with Pronto published on April 7 that he does not maintain frequent contact with the man from Burgos after his farewell on the program. “My relationship with Orestes has always been good, although we don’t talk much outside of the sets. Now I want to leave him alone because everything is very recent,” he shared. In addition, he indicated that he is going to write to him later to find out how he is.
They also asked him if he had given his opponent a gift, to which he replied: “He has taken 220,000 euros, he has not gone empty-handed, but if I go to Burgos, we will surely have a beer.”
Rafa Castaño pointed out that his priority after succeeding in Pasapalabra is to recover his anonymity and that he is not considering the possibility of going to another television program: “I have been in cultural contests for many years and now, after having won the jackpot, I do not contemplate going to another , because what I most want is to stop being as well-known as I am”.
The Andalusian told the aforementioned magazine: “When a few months have passed, I will look for a job that I like. The award allows me to work on whatever I want and, if it can be telecommuting and for a few hours, wonderful.”
On the other hand, he explained that he has considered investing the money he took, but not buying a flat or a car: “I don’t need them. I know it sounds strange, but I only think about buying books, lying down and reading them to me, and eating and travel”. He also said that she no longer continues to study “weird words”: “I can afford to go back to reading and watching movies without thinking about the goal of winning the jackpot.”
