The British nature filmmaker Sir David Attenborough’s awards in the usual way. More than 30 honorary doctorates were bestowed on him already, in 1985, Queen Elizabeth II dubbed him a “Knight Bachelor”, and in 1992 he was awarded with the Golden camera, several newly discovered animal species, and a research vessel named after him – just to mention a few. Now he has managed with an entry in the Guinness book of world records, you would not have believed in him: of The 94-year-old Attenborough is currently the Instagram users with the “fastest Insta-Million”.
Four hours and 44 minutes after logging in the App, Attenborough already had a Million Followers. So he replaced the American actress Jennifer Aniston (“Friends”), which was used in November for five hours and 16 minutes for this milestone and that, in turn, its predecessor, Prince Harry and his wife, the Duchess Meghan, 29 minutes beaten.
In his first post Attenborough last week, said that he had logged in to Instagram, “because, as we all know, the world is in trouble”. As examples, he cited forest fires, the reefs, the progressive melting of glaciers and Dying of coral, “the list goes on and on”. In the next few weeks, he wanted to educate about the consequences of climate change and what could be done against this. Attenborough for more than 60 years in the Radio and television industry – including as a TV programme Director at the BBC. In the seventies he decided to exchange his office against the Wilderness, and produced the self-nature films. A lot of attention, a series about the mystery of the organisms on our planet are found, among other things. Fans will especially appreciate that Attenborough always occurs objectively, without being preachy.
