The journalist of THE WORLD Laura Tardón has been honored this Thursday by the Spanish Society of Cardiology and the Spanish Heart Foundation (SEC-FEC) with one of its journalism awards. Tardón, editor of the Health section, has received the award in the category of digital media for the story titled “open heart without barely a scar.”
In the report, published on 8 November 2017, we describe the successful surgical procedure developed at the Hospital Gregorio Marañón of Madrid, a 10 years old child, Jeet, operated to open heart to correct a congenital heart disease. Thanks to this operation miniinvasiva, her scar is only six inches and is hidden under the arm. The child could also recover in a very short time of the surgery.
More than half a hundred papers have been received and appreciated in this third edition of the Journalism Awards of SEC-FEC, of which only nine came to the end. This Thursday has been celebrated in Seville the gala of delivery of these awards, which counted with the support of the Spanish Association of trainers of Health (ANIS) and comprise three categories: print Media, audiovisual and digital. Each award is endowed with 2,000 euros and a trophy badge.
