“Designate the movement which will be responsible for preparing the post-Macron era”: by posing on Saturday as the bulwark against the “forces of renunciation”, the boss of the RN, Jordan Bardella, launched his campaign for Europeans as much as that of Marine Le Pen for 2027.
In Beaucaire (Gard), held by the National Rally since 2014, the man who celebrated his 28th birthday this week wanted to make the European elections “the big mid-term vote” for Emmanuel Macron, while he is making the president of the Republic its “only adversary”.
“This is the one and only opportunity to sanction the government’s policy, to send a message to Brussels and to designate the movement which will be responsible for preparing for the post-Macron era,” he thunders.
Certainly, in his speech, the outgoing MEP mentioned the European Union, seen as “a hostess for migrants”, when he advocated “accompanying the boats to the countries of departure”. The one who claims to be at the head of a party of 50,000 members has also once again called for France’s exit from the European energy market.
But it is more of a general policy speech that Jordan Bardella wanted to outline, while Marine Le Pen does not deny wanting to appoint him to Matignon if she were to access the Elysée.
By advocating “power” against “the forces of renunciation” – which, according to him, range from LFI to macronia -, Mr. Bardella notably made a long statement on the recent urban violence: “The French people, for their part, do not attack not its police officers, don’t burn down its schools”, he said, advocating the suspension of family allowances “to parents of repeat juvenile offenders”.
Regarding purchasing power, he calls for a reduction in employer contributions to compensate for an increase in wages, estimating that “the social emergency of the end of the month like the vital concern of the end of France are not not fatalities.” Conclusion in the form of a slogan: “Give France back its greatness and the French their happiness”.
In the Beaucaire arenas, the head of the list was able to measure his popularity with the thousands of supporters present. Not enough to have the honor of concluding the RN summer universities, a privilege of Marine Le Pen, who intended to deliver a speech “with height”, “presidential”, as promised in recent days by her entourage.
In the bag of the unfortunate three-time candidate for the Elysée, a “proposal” about which she had kept a secret for a week.
End of suspense: it is a “Declaration of the Rights of Nations and Peoples” intended to protect them from “excesses of power of supranational organizations or commercial structures” – including first and foremost the European Union.
First stage of a “grand tour” to convince people of the usefulness of her text: Sunday, in Pontida, in the north of Italy, where she is invited to speak at the gathering of her “great friend” Matteo Salvini , the boss of La Ligue (far right).
“The French national movement, by its seniority, its legitimacy, its political power, is justified in initiating this beautiful and great proposal in favor of human freedoms”, she wanted to convince, by evoking “a universal vocation”.
Faced with Brussels institutions, Marine Le Pen thus praises “the nations” for “really preserving the peoples of the world, tomorrow and for the coming century, from the ever-increasing impact of global warming, and its already perceptible consequences on flows uncontrolled population”.
More than the European vote, the one who says she is “candidate in 2027 as long as (she) has not decided that she will not be” thus wanted to outline a future Le Pen presidency: “France and Europe are at a decisive historical turning point, and it is up to us to give our country the impetus that will allow it to approach this new era with the confidence, principles and tools that will be essential to it in the coming decades.”
At the podium, in front of a huge banner reading “Can’t wait for June 9”, the date of the European election, some thought for her: “Can’t wait for 2027”.
