The heat wave and thunderstorms are over! Make way for much milder weather, according to the latest forecasts from Météo-France relayed by the Météo channel. Temperatures are expected to continue to drop until Sunday August 27, while the last claps of thunder will ring out until Tuesday August 29 near the Mediterranean. The rest of France will be able to enjoy cooler temperatures and cloudy weather with some sunny spells. However, the heat could return around September 1.
Watch out for this weekend of August 26 and 27, however. Especially around the Mediterranean where the mistral and the tramontana will blow hard until August 29. As for swimming, it could be discouraged until August 30 with rough seas and a drastic drop in water temperature, currently still between 24 and 29°C. On the other hand, from August 31, temperatures will begin to rise again.
In the mountains, whether for the Pyrenees, the Vosges, the Alps, the Jura or the Massif Central, the observation remains the same. The weekend promises violent thunderstorms and precipitation is expected. On the other hand, from Monday, August 28, the lull will be present.
Cool and breathable temperatures should even be observed. August 29 and 31 should also be the best days for outdoor activities.
