Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – The Australian dressage rider Kristy Oatley won the first Grand Prix at the international Whitsun tournament in Wiesbaden. The 43-year-old, who lives in Schleswig-Holstein, started her experienced gelding Du Soleil on Saturday, and the judges gave her an overall grade of 71.848 percent. She won just ahead of Laurence Vanommeslaghe from Belgium with Edison (71.261 percent). Third was Anja Plönzke from Heidenrod with Fahrenheit, both of them received 70.478 percent. The riders have thus qualified for the Grand Prix Freestyle, which will be decided on Sunday evening.
