This Thursday, September 21, and during the next three programs on the Antena 3 set, four new guests will appear. One of them is Miguel Lago.
Born in Vigo 42 years ago, Miguel Lago has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Vigo and in fact became a professor before betting everything on humor. And, although he no longer sports his lustrous and famous beard, the Galician is one of the most recognized comedians today both on television and on stage.
At just 18 years old, he made his debut on the stage of El club de la comedia in 2000. Since then, he has tried to make people laugh with his own style and high doses of black humor. Another of his first professional projects was at Comedy Central, becoming the Comedian of the Year in 2012, and three years later he returned to the monologues of The Comedy Club as a proven comedian.
He has been part of the cast of collaborators on the program Everything is a Lie with Risto Mejide, from which he left by surprise in 2022 after three years and 800 programs due to “the pressure of a political and controversial daily program.” She let go of Risto and grabbed Pablo Motos, who offered her a spot at the El Hormiguero gathering. In both programs, Lago’s comments have caused loud controversy among those he calls “offended.”
In addition, he is a regular at Paramount Comedy and collaborated in the magazine Y Ahora Sonsoles.
The man from Vigo has had time to make his first steps as an actor, with roles in the docu-reality shows broadcast by Antena 3 Curso del 63 and its sequel Curso del 73 or in the Netflix series Las Chicas del Cable.
Although television is where he has made his natural habitat, Miguel Lago has accumulated several projects in theaters, starring in monologue shows throughout Spain. Likewise, he has collaborated on radio programs on Radio Marca and M80, among other stations.
Miguel Lago is also a writer. He is the author of Hooligan and Knight (La Esfera de los Libros, 2017), a book in which he expresses his most cynical reflections using his infallible weapon, that mixture of irony and bad temper, hooliganism, chivalry and Galician retranca .
He debuted for the first time in this stage of Pasapalabra on Antena 3 in October 2022, but he already participated as a guest in the contest programs on Telecinco.
