Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – It smelled bad: The population of Stuttgart was warned of pungent odors because of an ammonia leak. Residents within a radius of 100 meters of a production facility should keep windows and doors closed for two hours on Tuesday, the fire brigade said. The gas with the acrid smell had flowed from a cooling system in the factory. Rescuers stopped the spill and used water mist to combat the fumes. The fire brigade carried out measurements, there was no danger to the population. A company employee was examined by the emergency services but did not require treatment.
