Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – The comeback of central defender Florian Hübner at 1. FC Nuremberg is getting closer. The 31-year-old struggled with back problems for a long time and has been absent from the Franconian second division soccer team since the beginning of September. “I’m so far now that I’ve already taken part in part of the team training and the goal is to train fully with the team over the course of the training camp. I really hope it works,” said Hübner in a statement published on the club’s website Interview.
Hübner had been diagnosed with nerve irritation in his back. “My back is definitely a lot better than it was two months ago. I think we took the right step when we said we would slow down the training sessions and the games so that I could get really fit again.” , explained Hübner, who is also fighting for a new contract with Nuremberg.
The “club” prepares for the second half of the season in Belek, Turkey, from Sunday to January 15th. On January 29th, the eleventh-placed side will play their second half of the season at home against FC St. Pauli.
