Olsberg (dpa / lnw) – A 48-year-old from Sauerland has given himself a chase with the police with a timber transporter. The man caught the officers’ attention on the B480 near Olsberg late Monday evening because he was traveling too fast during a radar check. When they tried to stop the truck, police said the driver accelerated. The officers followed him.
The chase with the police first took place on the motorway, then on a country road and finally on various forest paths. There the 48-year-old got stuck with the timber transporter. The police officers smashed the driver’s door and dragged the man out of the cab.
Since the man was apparently under the influence of alcohol, a blood sample was taken from him at the police station. His driver’s license was confiscated. According to current knowledge, the driver drove the truck without the required papers.
