The RTVE Board of Directors has approved the renewal for a second season of the program produced by Grupo Ganga, Dúos Increíbles. The Public Corporation agreement is for a total of 10 programs at a cost of more than 6 million euros, nearly three million less than the first season.

As EL MUNDO has learned from sources close to the negotiation, last Thursday the RTVE Board of Directors decided not to approve the renewal given the high cost of Incredible Duos. The approval was halted until the amounts were adjusted, but due to the advance of the general elections this Tuesday it has been decided to approve with the same amount presented last Thursday.

The reason is that between now and July 23 and given the uncertainty of who will win the elections, the Board of Directors is practically paralyzed with what has sought to approve certain agreements, such as the Incredible Duos, so that they would not remain in the air sine die

In this way, RTVE once again bets on a musical talent after the end of Cover Night, two programs that did not reach the cut share quotas or the audience target set in the contracts with the public channel.

In the case of Incredible Duos, the cut-off share for the first season was established at 12% and the program achieved an average audience of 10.2%, more than one and a half points above the average for the network during the months which was issued. The cut share is the hearing that the public entity marks in the contract to the producers to maintain or not a program on the air.

Dúos Increíbles arrived on La 1 as the new space for live music on the public channel. It is a contest of songs performed by duos formed blindly by singers from two different generations. Incredible Duos sought to reinterpret the soundtrack of Spain, the hits and songs that have been part of us for decades, from creativity and artistic freedom, as well as offering a great show.

The first season was hosted by Juan y Medio, who will not take the lead again, and included in its cast of artists the voices of Ana Belén, Miguel Poveda, Ainhoa ??Arteta, Víctor Manuel, Sole Giménez, Antonio Carmona, Diego Torres and Carlos Goni. Each one formed a duo with one of the youngest interpreters – the group of juniors – which was made up of Antonio José, Nía, Agoney, La Cebolla, Marta Soto, Yoly Saa, Chema Rivas and Paul Alone.

At the moment, few details are known about what this new season will be like, beyond the fact that RTVE has reduced the number of deliveries from 12 to 10 and their cost. Of the 753,000 euros that RTVE paid for each program last season, the agreement for the second edition leaves each chapter at just over 600,000 euros. Despite the cut in cost and in the number of deliveries, RTVE sources assure this newspaper that it continues to be “a program that is too expensive for the audience data it reports.”
