The judge has sent to prison the three men arrested the day before for beating a man with iron bars in the parking lot of a supermarket in Laredo (Cantabria). All three are charged with assault with attempted murder. Along with the men, a woman was also arrested for the same events, who has been released.

The four detainees, of gypsy ethnicity, were located in Cicero, next to the vehicle in which they fled, and the last one arrested was this morning in Laredo. They argued before the judge that they beat up the 63-year-old victim because she was “hanging around” a 13-year-old girl, a relative of one of the aggressors, who felt uncomfortable with her approach.

The Civil Guard has reported in a statement that the attacker, who would also be a gypsy ethnic group, and who remains admitted to the Valdecilla Hospital, “was not carrying out any work activity” at the time of the event, and has specified that it was not of a security guard, after it was indicated on social networks that he worked as such in the Lupa supermarket where the events occurred, located in the La Pesquera neighborhood.

The events occurred on Sunday afternoon for “personal reasons”, according to the same sources, which specify that the victim is admitted “with a reserved prognosis”.

The Civil Guard was alerted at 2:10 p.m. of that attack in which “metal bars used to set up street vendors” were used, reports Efe.

When several patrols arrived at the scene, they found the man lying on the ground, who was already being treated by health personnel and was transferred to the Laredo Hospital from where he was referred to Valdecilla de Santander due to the seriousness of his injuries.

Images posted on social media show three men brutally beating the man, first hitting him repeatedly with iron bars and then continuing to kick him in the head. The victim screams and wails in pain in the middle of a pool of blood. The aggression is directed by a woman who accompanied the three men and who was also arrested, although no prison has been ordered for her.
