Neustrelitz (dpa/mv) – At TSG Neustrelitz, the initial dissatisfaction with the Karlsruher SC cup has gone. While club boss Hauke ??Runge’s initial reaction was to wish for “another opponent” for the first round of the DFB Cup competition, Jörg Buder is full of anticipation for the “highlight game” in which he hopes for a surprise from the Mecklenburg Oberliga side. “The guys should just stay calm and give it their all. If they are brave and give it their all, it will be difficult for professionals to outplay us,” he said of the match (Friday/6 p.m.).

For the outsider it is the second meeting in the DFB Cup with KSC. In 2007, the guests only won 2-0 after extra time. “Confidence is appropriate. Maybe this time we’ll reach the second round,” said club manager Runge immediately after the draw. Buder also sees it that way, especially since the Badeners have recently presented themselves in anything but top form.

Of course, KSC is the clear favourite, said the 52-year-old despite the unsuccessful start to the season of the cup opponents, who are bottom of the table after two games in the 2nd division with zero points and 2:8 goals. Either way – according to Buder, the match should “primarily be a really great event for the fans, for the club and for the city”.
