Man, oh man, the U.S. Marshals really outdid themselves this week. They finally managed to nab a guy who had been giving the Lakewood police the slip for over a year. And what was this dude’s crime, you ask? Well, allegedly, he was involved in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy. Pretty heavy stuff, right?
So, this fella, Philix Baca, a 20-year-old troublemaker, has been on the run since April 2024, all because the police suspected him of first-degree murder. They claim that he and some other shady characters were responsible for the tragic killing of the boy, who goes by the name Francisco “Cisco” Laqui according to his family.
The Lakewood police got wind that Baca might be holed up in the Colorado Springs area, and they wasted no time in letting the U.S. Marshals know. In a joint effort with various local and federal law enforcement agencies, a task force was formed to track down Baca. And guess what? They found him chilling at a home in northeast Colorado Springs. Talk about a successful stakeout! Baca’s got a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, so let’s see how this all plays out. Stay tuned for more updates on this wild ride.
