Virgin Wines, an online wine retailer, has recently introduced a new limited-edition wine range called the Vineyard Collection. This wine range is unique because it has been created from Virgin Wines’ own vines in five different regions worldwide. These regions include Riebeek and Franschhoek in South Africa, East Sussex in England, Roussillon in France, and McLaren Vale in Australia.
The company has carefully selected each wine from a blend of their own vines to ensure the highest quality. The wines are produced in low volumes, making them exclusive to Virgin Wines customers. For example, the Konstantia Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2023 is made from 40-year-old vines in Konstantia, near Zonquasdrif, and crafted by winemaker Sheree Nothnagel. Another standout from the range is the Henners Chardonnay Pinot Noir Sparkling Wine NV, created by winemaker and estate manager Collette O’Leary.
Jay Wright, the CEO of Virgin Wines, expressed his excitement about this new venture, emphasizing that it builds on the company’s previous involvement in the winemaking process. By securing vineyard plots around the world and creating their own wines, Virgin Wines is showcasing their expertise and dedication to producing high-quality wines. Dave Roberts, the company’s senior buyer, praised the collaborative effort between Virgin Wines’ team and the vineyards they have partnered with for over two decades.
In addition to Virgin Wines’ Vineyard Collection, other notable developments in the wine industry have recently taken place. Chateau d’Issan has revealed its new white Rhône blend, adding to its portfolio of fine wines. Ipsus 2020 has also made waves by elevating Chianti Classico Gran Selezione to new heights. Furthermore, Christie’s has opened its new Asia Pacific headquarters, signaling a growing interest in fine wines in the region.
Overall, Virgin Wines’ foray into creating their own vineyard range demonstrates a commitment to innovation and quality in the wine industry. By sourcing grapes from select locations worldwide and working closely with experienced winemakers, Virgin Wines is offering customers a unique and exclusive tasting experience. This initiative not only highlights the company’s winemaking expertise but also underlines their passion for delivering exceptional wines to wine enthusiasts around the globe.
