In mid-January, the public prosecutor’s office made a request for additional information – that is to say a resumption of the judicial investigation in the case opened following the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar in December 2020 – , due to new elements that may merit investigation that appeared after the investigation was closed. “Considering that the requested acts are of interest, it [the investigating chamber] therefore grants them and appoints to proceed the two investigating magistrates of the Toulouse judicial court initially seized,” explains the court of appeal in its press release .
In this case without a body, no confession, no witness, no crime scene, Mr. Jubillar, incarcerated since June 2021, denies any responsibility. Delphine Jubillar disappeared from her house in Cagnac-les-Mines (Tarn), where the couple lived with their 18-month-old daughter and 6-year-old son, on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, in the middle of a curfew. to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the regional daily La Dépêche du Midi, this new element, the content of which the prosecution did not wish to reveal, is the discovery of a telephone exchange between a detainee and his mother discussing the affair.
In the conversation placed under surveillance, the inmate incarcerated at the central prison of Lannemezan (Hautes-Pyrénées) for attempted murder would have mentioned the first names of three people, at least two of whom appear in the Jubillar file. Furthermore, another testimony on which investigations would also be necessary was mentioned by one of Mr. Jubillar’s lawyers at the end of the hearing of the investigating chamber at the request of the general prosecutor’s office, on 18 January.
