The attributable net profit of the ACS Group amounted to 668 million euros in 2022, 66% more than the previous year, if the impact of the contribution of the Industrial Services activity that has been sold to Vinci and that does not contribute in 2022.
As reported by the company in a statement, all activities have had a good operating performance. The net profit of the Construction area has grown by 28.3%, standing at 350 million euros; the Concessions activity, which includes Abertis and Iridium, obtained a net profit of 194 million euros, increasing by 16.1%; The Services area developed by Clece obtained a net profit of 27 million euros, falling by 6.4% due to an increase in taxation, and profit before taxes grew by 5%.
Gross operating profit (EBITDA) has reached 1,747 million euros, 9.4% more than the previous year, driven by the contribution of Abertis, which amounts to 167 million euros (15% more).
Net operating profit (EBIT) stood at 1,106 million euros, 2.0% more than the previous year, affected by the lower contribution of energy assets and variations in the Construction business mix, with a higher contribution of “construction management” activities in North America, which has lower margins.
Sales were 33,615 million euros, 20.8% more than the previous year, with all activities showing solid performance; Adjusted for exchange rates, sales grew by 11.6%.
The ACS Group presents at the end of 2022 a net cash position of 224 million euros, as reported by the company. This solid financial position is supported by strong operating cash generation that exceeds 1,300 million euros. Net cash has decreased by 1,785 million, mainly after the investment in strategic operations: the takeover bid for 21.4% of CIMIC by HOCHTIEF and the acquisition of an additional 15.1% in HOCHTIEF by ACS.
Total shareholder remuneration amounts to 1,057 million euros, of which 531 million euros correspond to the scrip dividend paid by ACS to its shareholders, 431 million to the acquisition of treasury shares, and 95 million euros to payment of dividends to minorities, mainly from Hochtief.
