Members of the National Police have arrested this Saturday in the Lleida town of Balaguer the perpetrator of the shooting that seriously injured two men in Zaragoza on Friday. This is a 43-year-old man of Spanish nationality who has numerous police records and is pending judicial review.
The arrest was made in coordination with the Judicial Police Group of the Lleida National Police and the Barcelona Special Operations Group.
Previously, the National Police found abandoned in Zaragoza the vehicle from which he fired the shots and in which he fled after leaving a father and his son badly injured on the ground in the Zaragoza neighborhood of Torrero around 11:30 a.m. on Lasierra Purroy street .
The most seriously injured is the father, José F.G. 43, who was shot in the abdomen and had to undergo surgery, while his son, Antonio F.F., 25, has a gunshot wound to his thigh that has affected his femur and will also have to be operated on.
Although the Zaragoza National Police Homicide Group is investigating the circumstances surrounding the case, everything indicates that it is a settling of pending scores between family clans.
A year ago the author of the shots appeared at the home of the wounded with a knife and a dispute ensued in which several of those involved ended up in jail.
At the time of the shooting, the injured were with an 11-year-old boy, son and brother of the victims, who was unharmed and was the one who raised the alarm. Later, several neighbors called the police to report that they had heard shots and two men were badly injured on the ground.
The agents who went to the place verified that both had gunshot wounds, one in the leg and the other in the abdominal area. After receiving initial assistance, 061 ambulances transferred them to the Miguel Servet hospital and to the clinic in the Aragonese capital where they remain hospitalized.
