The Abia State Government has initiated the renovation project of the Eke Oha Shopping Centre in Aba South Local Government Area. The goal is to transform the market into a modern shopping complex. The project is part of Governor Alex Otti’s vision to revamp the economic landscape of the state with the help of private investors. To address the concerns of traders who rely on the market for their livelihood, the government has arranged temporary accommodations during the renovation period. The Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) and other relevant bodies will collaborate with market traders to manage the relocation process effectively. Governor Otti reassured the traders that the government would work closely with developers to ensure a smooth and timely completion of the project.
Chimezie Ukaegbu, the State’s commissioner for Transport, highlighted the significance of the project in rejuvenating businesses within Aba.
