Next month, residents in a Cheshire town can expect road closures due to filming activities. The Warrington Borough Council has officially announced that Pickering Crescent in Thelwall, as well as Cotswold Road and Chiltern Road in Orford, will be temporarily closed off in October.

Pickering Crescent will be closed on October 1, stretching from its junction with Stanton Road to its junction with Woodlands Drive. On the other hand, both Cotswold Road and Chiltern Road will be shut down on October 6. Cotswold Road will be closed from its junction with Poplars Avenue to its junction with Cheviot Avenue, while Chiltern Road will be closed from its junctions with Cotswold Road and Lancing Avenue.

According to a council spokesman, these closures are necessary to accommodate filming activities in the area. This news comes after the recent visit of actor Sean Bean to Pickering Crescent, where filming for the upcoming movie “Avelyn” took place. In the movie, Bean portrays the character of an ex-soldier. Sean Bean is a well-known figure in the world of TV and film, having starred in popular productions like Lord of the Rings, Sharpe, and Goldeneye.

It was also mentioned that Warrington has become a sought-after location for film crews, with the council receiving numerous inquiries from production companies every year. Earlier this year, Walton Hall and Gardens witnessed the presence of cameras for filming purposes, and back in January, Orford was taken over by film crews for the Sky One series “Brassic”.

The closures are part of the Road Traffic Regulation Act’s temporary prohibition of driving order, which will be enforced as soon as it is signed on site. Residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid any inconveniences caused by these closures. Stay tuned for more updates on the filming activities taking place in the Cheshire town next month.
