Five young players from Chelsea’s academy had the chance to train with the first team on Wednesday, as Enzo Maresca and his team prepared for their upcoming match against FC Noah in the Conference League. The training session took place at the Cobham training base, with Maresca and player Benoit Badiashile also attending media duties. The team is set to face the Armenian side FC Noah at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, a relatively new club founded in 2017.

During the training session, Maresca divided the players into two groups – one for those who played against Manchester United on Sunday, and another for those expected to play against FC Noah. Maresca emphasized that the team makes changes not just because of the previous big game but also due to having a squad of 24-25 fit and capable players ready to compete in different competitions.

The Conference League has provided opportunities for young talents like Tyrique George, Kiano Dyer, and Samuel Rak-Sakyi to earn call-ups to the first team. George, who has already made appearances off the bench in previous matches, might have a chance to start the upcoming game due to injuries and absences in the team. Maresca confirmed that George and Rak-Sakyi would be part of the squad for the match against FC Noah.

Apart from George and Rak-Sakyi, other academy players like Zain Silcott-Duberry, Shim Mheuka, and Ato Ampah were also involved in the training session on Wednesday. This interaction between the academy players and the first team highlights Chelsea’s commitment to nurturing young talents and providing them with exposure to senior-level football.

As Chelsea gears up to face FC Noah, a club with a relatively short history, the inclusion of academy players in the training session showcases the club’s emphasis on youth development and building a strong foundation for the future. The blend of experienced players and emerging talents in the squad reflects Chelsea’s holistic approach to team-building and player development.

Overall, the opportunity given to academy players to train with the first team not only benefits the young talents in their development but also enriches the team dynamics and fosters a sense of unity and collaboration within the squad. As Chelsea continues to compete in various competitions, the integration of academy prospects into the senior team bodes well for the club’s long-term success and sustainability.
