Jeep is going electric and is relying on the modular system of the parent company Stellantis. The Avenger’s starting price of 37,000 euros remains within limits. Jeep expects the Avenger to become the bestseller in the brand’s offering.
The Jeep Avenger is in the starting blocks. The market launch of the brand’s first battery-electric vehicle is scheduled for the end of March, with prices starting at 37,000 euros.
The 4.08 meter long Avenger uses well-known e-technology from the Stellantis Group, which is also used in the Opel Mokka, for example. A 115 kW/156 hp electric motor powered by a 54 kWh battery is responsible for driving the front wheels. Jeep specifies a WLTP range of almost 400 kilometers. The Avenger can draw up to 100 kW of electricity from a fast charging station. The battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 24 minutes at best. On a wall box with 11 kilowatts of alternating current, it takes 5.5 hours to fully charge.
Jeep offers the Avenger in four equipment lines, which can be customized with up to five packages for infotainment, assistance systems, appearance and comfort in addition to the entry-level version. Always on board is the Select Terrain system, which offers six different modes, including “Snow” and “Mud”.
The nameless basic variant has, among other things, 16-inch steel wheels, automatic air conditioning and a hill descent control. With “Longitude” (from 38,500 euros) there are around 16-inch aluminum and a height-adjustable trunk floor, which facilitates access to the 355-liter luggage compartment.
“Altitude” (from 40,500 euros) offers, among other things, 17-inch wheels, silver-colored underbody protection panels and an electric tailgate. The top model Summit is available from 43,500 euros. The standard scope includes LED lights, ambient lighting, reversing camera and an inductive charging station.
Visually, the Avenger is easily recognizable as a member of the Jeep family with its seven-slot grille, sweeping fenders and X-shaped taillights. The off-roader veteran Wrangler was the inspiration for the interior design. The ground clearance of the Avenger is 20 centimetres, the angle of departure is 20 degrees and 32 degrees at the rear. The ramp angle is specified as 20 degrees. Jeep expects the Avenger to become the bestseller in the traditional brand’s range.
