The associations Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media (CIMA), Women in Music, Women in the Visual Arts (MAV), Classic and Modern, and Women in the Music Industry (MIM) have also condemned “the complicity shown by the vast majority of those attending the extraordinary Assembly of the RFEF”.
“We cannot remain indifferent to an act of sexual assault,” said the associations, which have demanded that Rubiales be removed from office.
“What has been seen, read and heard in the media these days, both nationally and internationally, confirms the distance between the social advances for equality that Spanish society wants and for which it works with evident achievements for women and men, and the retrograde and macho behavior of people who, like Mr. Rubiales, are out of time thinking that an equally retrograde power makes them go unpunished,” they maintain.
