Since its appearance on the watch market a little over ten years ago, this ambitious French watchmaker has always liked to surprise. While its star material in marbled brown shades, tortoiseshell (its real name is cellulose acetate), is very reminiscent of the spectacle frames of yesteryear, the cushion shape of its case and its contemporary design place Briston in the modernity. Especially since the brand has been able to maintain its line of conduct and cultivate its own spirit to evolve while remaining consistent. Proof of this is once again today with the new versions of the Streamliner Urban collection.

One of Briston’s emblematic lines, the Streamliner Urban has just enriched its palette with three new colors, offering its embossed dials a welcome relaxation and dynamism. “These new chronographs retain all the codes dear to the brand, but in a range of sport-chic and urban timepieces that did not yet exist”, explains one at Briston. In fact, if we find the tortoiseshell on the sides, the steel completes the realization of this piece of 42 mm in diameter. The embossed pattern of the dial, available in different new colours, olive green, glacier blue and taupe grey, is highlighted by the sobriety of the barrel-cambered bezel, fixed by four prominent screws. A true exercise in geometry.

The watch can be worn on the wrist in two ways. Either in rubber mode or on a specially created steel bracelet. If the first version is obviously more sporty and relaxed, the metal brings an increase in elegance and character. Note the presence on the first link of an engraved Briston signature, as well as the vertical brushed finish of the bracelet elements and the careful polishing of the chamfers. On the technical side, the waterproof case to 100 m houses a quartz movement of Japanese origin. The Miyota OS21 caliber provides the chronograph function, with two 60-minute and 24-hour counters, as well as the date indication. To already think about the next vacation?
