Summit County rescue crews had a busy day on Tuesday as they successfully recovered the body of a missing person in a remote “technical area” of wilderness near Frisco, by Wichita Mountain west of Interstate 70. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the recovery operation took place at the North Tenmile Creek Trailhead near Frisco and concluded around 4:30 p.m.
The identity of the missing person has not been disclosed as of now, but they were reported missing from Frisco. The Summit County Coroner’s Office will release the individual’s name, cause, and manner of death in due course. It’s worth noting that this recovery effort is unrelated to the case of a missing Vail man whose vehicle was discovered at Officers Gulch earlier this month.
