Tom Kean Jr. was not having it with Phil Murphy’s claims on Wednesday evening. He straight up accused Murphy of spreading lies and scaring people for no reason. According to Kean, New Jersey’s state government is in shambles because of this kind of behavior.

What really set Kean off was a huge bill making its way through Congress. Despite being a Republican, Kean, surprisingly, voted in favor of it in committee. This bill, as Trump so eloquently put it, is “big and beautiful.” One of the main focuses for Democrats right now is Medicaid, which helps out folks with lower incomes.

Republicans, including Kean, are all about cutting down on fraud and waste with this bill. They claim it’s all about protecting the real Medicaid recipients out there. But the Dems aren’t buying it. Murphy had some strong words for Kean, saying that the proposal would basically destroy Medicaid and hurt millions of people in New Jersey.

It’s hard to say why Kean doesn’t hold town halls with his constituents. Maybe he’s just too busy in Washington, who knows? But he insists that he’s always listening to New Jerseyans, especially when it comes to important issues like Medicaid. And he’s pretty proud of the fact that they were able to save Medicaid coverage for everyone.
