Chelo García-Cortés was in Sálvame on Thursday, May 25 and did not stop when charging against Mediaset for the cancellation of the format. Two of her classmates who often criticize her for speaking little about her were in charge of giving her way. Kiko Hernández commented: “Sálvame ends on June 23. Each and every one of us, throughout these days since we learned the sad news, have shown our concern, our discomfort and have made allegations that this program does not end, especially because of the audience that every afternoon makes us audience leaders… All but one”.
Kiko Matamoros continued: “Except for a colleague who has decided to vindicate our position and the height of this program by taking a vow of silence.” Chelo García-Cortés, who had been on leave, ended up getting up from her seat and went to the center of the set to send a forceful message.
“I consider that it is one of the biggest business aberrations to suspend a program like Sálvame. I do not know the allegations that my colleagues have made, but I do know what people say to me on the street and what my colleagues have done at very important, which perhaps I have not done because I have spoken less”, he declared.
The collaborator released looking at the camera: “You are so wrong… The public not only loves us, but they are giving us more audience every day. I don’t know if we will go to Congress, I don’t know if we will go to the Community of Madrid, but You know something? You don’t know what television is. This is television!”
The presenters of the magazine, the gatherings and the public gave Chelo García-Cortés a standing ovation. The set became a party in which everyone danced and applauded, but she wanted to continue with her argument.
After supporting Matamoros’s idea of ??touring towns in Spain on a bus, he broke the Mediaset Code of Ethics when talking about politics: “My colleagues have not asked for a vote for 14 years. We have had the public vote, sometimes more and others times less. You, the politicians, who don’t know how to do politics, there with you on the 28th! We’re leaving on the 23rd, but we’re not leaving”.
“Why are we leaving before the 23rd because of the outburst?” Hernández said in a low voice. “Political cello!” They yelled encouraging her. She shared: “In politics, in the end, we are deceived by each other, we are what we are. We yell at each other, some shout more, others speak less like me, but we have been teaching real television for 14 years thanks to the team behind us, those wonderful crazy people. And if the businessmen want to kick us out, don’t worry, the streets are ours”.
The socialite made it clear that she was not afraid of the consequences of her speech: “It’s what I think and I’m not afraid. At my age, I don’t care about everything, I say what I want.” He admitted that in Sálvame they had done “many things wrong”, but pointed out that many other things were also right and recalled the work of his colleagues during the pandemic: “They gave everything and asked for nothing more than to be able to accompany you. And you are not going to do this to us teach you, because we will continue doing whatever we want”. Chelo concluded: “These 22 days that we are missing, supposedly, from time to time I will remember that you do not know what you are doing, dear. The audience is ours.”
