The jury of the Iris Specialized Press Prize 2023, made up of a representation of critics, journalists and television commentators in various media outlets, has agreed, in a meeting held this Monday at the Casa de México Foundation in Spain, to award this award to The series Amar is forever on Antena 3 “for being a fiction that has marked several generations and has portrayed the society of our country, accompanying a sector of society for which television provides a true public service.”

The jury also highlighted that the series, which is in its final season, has highlighted “the intense teamwork behind a daily series, of which it is a benchmark, and being one of the great bastions of the entertainment of our country. And for its visibility of social diversity, such as the LGTBI reality, in daytime in its scripts, in addition to being a source of fiction professionals, in front of and behind the camera.”

The jury for this edition was made up of: Esther Mucientes (EL MUNDO) Borja Terán (Henneo Media and Julia en la Onda), Juanma Fernández (Bluper), Héctor Alabadí (FórmulaTV) Lorenzo Ayuso (Vertele), Israel Álvarez (20 Minutos) ), David Saiz (El Economista/Informalia), Sergio Soriano (El Plural), Noé Guzmán (Infobae), Xabier Miguélez (El Confidencial), Alicia Mingo and Rocío Ponce.

In addition, the vice presidents of the Television Academy, Beatriz Maesso and Joana Carrión, represented the Board of Directors.

After 11 years and more than 2,700 episodes broadcast, the longest-running fiction on television will close a career of enormous success on television in Spain. An absolute benchmark in the national audiovisual sector, Amar es para siempre has become one of the most solid and iconic productions on television.

Throughout these almost 11 years, Amar es para siempre has had more than 1,600 actors and 28,000 extras for whom more than 7,000 different costumes have been used.

And in order to provide realism to the stories, 300 sets have been built and 41,300 sequences have been filmed with 162,000 minutes of broadcast. All of this recorded in facilities with two 1,500 m2 sets and another 1,000 m2 outdoor set on which the mythical Plaza de los Frutos and two other streets are built.

The Specialized Press Iris Award was born in 2016 with the reform of the Academy Awards regulations with the aim of recognizing the most valued programs and professionals of the television season.
