Until the end, Ozzy Osbourne and his fans were looking forward to the “No More Tours II” tour, which had been postponed several times. Now, however, the prince of darkness has to admit with a heavy heart that his days on the global stage are numbered. He will no longer perform live.
With his large-scale and repeatedly postponed farewell tour “No More Tours II”, Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne wanted to step down from the live stages of this world in an epochal way. But after four years, which were marked by health problems and medical interventions, a bitter realization has matured in the self-proclaimed “Prince of Darkness”: The times of tour life are already over prematurely, as Osbourne said in a detailed statement on his official Instagram account reports.
“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans,” the lyrics begin. In February exactly four years ago “I had a serious accident in which I injured my spine”. During all this time, the thought of being able to stand on stage again one day gave him strength. But it was precisely this thought that he had to say goodbye to “after three operations, stem cell therapy, endless physiotherapy” and other interventions with a heavy heart.
“I never imagined my touring days would end like this,” Osbourne said. Especially since his “singing voice is wonderful”, as he writes. He noted with great awe how many people held on to their tickets to his concerts despite repeated postponements. “However, I have come to the conclusion that I am physically unable to tackle the upcoming Europe/USA tour.” The star claims that the idea of ??having to disappoint his fans in this way completely destroys him.
But there is at least a glimmer of hope: “My team is currently collecting ideas on how I could perform without having to travel from city to city and from country to country.” That sounds like it, for example, virtual live concerts are up for debate, which Ozzy fans could then attend from the living room. However, the musician has not yet reported any concrete plans for this.
In closing, Ozzy Osbourne would like to thank “my family, my band, my team, my longtime friends, Judas Priest and, of course, my fans for their endless passion, loyalty and support and for giving me a life I never dreamed of to be allowed to lead it.”
