Kevin Hart recently reflected on his time living with his former roommate Jason Segel. During an episode of his talk show Hart to Heart, Kevin sat down with Judd Apatow and shared memories of the time when Apatow “made” him and Segel live together while working on a pilot titled North Hollywood back in 2001.

According to Hart, he observed Segel diligently writing every day on his computer using Final Draft software, which he highly recommended to Hart. Despite not owning a computer at the time, Hart ended up purchasing the program. He humorously shared how he had to buy a Dell computer and start writing without really knowing what he was doing, all because Segel and Seth Rogen were doing it too.

Living with Segel and witnessing his work ethic, Hart developed a habit of creating and writing, which he attributes to the environment he was in during that time. Segel also spoke about their living arrangement during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, emphasizing how hardworking Hart was and how he was always focused on his craft, even when they were out having fun.

The unaired North Hollywood pilot featured a young cast, including Amy Poehler, January Jones, and Judge Reinhold. Segel reminisced about the time when Hart lived with him in his one-bedroom apartment and how they navigated their newfound success together. Despite the challenges of sharing living space, Segel admired Hart’s dedication to his work and acknowledged that it was his commitment that led to his success.

Looking back on their time together, Segel praised Hart for his incredible work ethic and determination, highlighting how Hart’s focused approach to his craft set him apart and ultimately contributed to his success in the entertainment industry. Their shared experience of living and working together left a lasting impact on both actors, shaping their careers in meaningful ways.
